Saratoga Springs, NY Dr. Thomas Nugent Gorman, D.V.M. passed away Tuesday (Sept. 15, 2009) after a brief illness. He was 76. Born on Nov.20, 1932 in Utica, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Julia (Nugent) Gorman. He was a graduate of Cornell University undergraduate and School of Veterinary Medicine. With a career spanning over 50 years, Doc Tom cared for thoroughbred and harness race horses here in Saratoga Springs as well as Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetrack on Long Island. He was a music lover, classic car enthusiast and enjoyed boating and sailing on Saratoga Lake. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Patrick Douglas, D.V.M. and three sisters, Mary Therese, Patricia and Judy. Survivors include his daughter Bridgette and son Thomas Jr., both of Bayville, NY; granddaughter Shane of Katonah, NY; brother-in-law Donald; nephews David, John, Timothy and Thomas Holmes, nephews and nieces Laurie, Debbie, Joe, Mark and Tricia Ullrich; sister-in-law Angeline and nephews James and Michael Gorman. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7pm Friday, (Sept. 18, 2009) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A funeral home service will follow at 7pm. Following the service there will be a reception until 10pm, for all attending, at Wheatfields Restaurant, 440 Broadway, Saratoga Springs (587-0534).
