Saratoga Springs - Thomas Willard Willson, 94, passed away on July 26, 2018. He was born March 25, 1924 in Lake Placid, NY to the late Bentley and Mary Washburn Willson.
Tom had many accomplishments and was loved by many in his long life. He was a proud World War II Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS Sierra in the Pacific. He was a printer by trade and the owner of Coronet Press on Caroline Street for over 30 years and a member of the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge 161 for over 60 years. Tom was also a life member of the VFW and American Legion.
In addition to his parents Tom is predeceased by his wife Charlotte, his brother Richard, and stepson Nelson LaTour.
He is survived by his daughters; Elizabeth and husband Joseph Wryk of Virginia Beach, Stephanie and husband Dan Bell of Sebastian, Fl, and Kathleen and husband Joseph Wilson of San Jose, CA; A daughter-in-law Ilse LaTour of Wilton; a sister, Patricia Speak as well as nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga County, 179 Lawrence St, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
Relatives and friends may call from 10am-1pm on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff, Inc. Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
Saratoga-Wilton Elks will meet at 12noon Tuesday at the funeral home for their ritual.
A funeral home service will be celebrated at 1pm. Burial with military honors will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
The family invites friends to join them in celebrating Tom's life at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge 161, 1 Elk Lane, following the service.
