Greenfield Center, NY - Timothy Hammond Burke, of Daketown Road, passed away Friday (July 16, 2010) at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was 68. Born on Nov. 27, 1941 in Saratoga Springs, NY, he was a son of the late George W. Burke and the late Alice Hammond Burke Dake and was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy and had worked for many years as a driver for Fort Edward Express. Tim's many interests included golf, fishing, traveling, rooting for the NY Giants and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Gurtler Bros. Post 420 VFW, St. Joseph's Church and American Legion Adirondack Post 70, where he served as finance officer. Survivors include his devoted wife of 44 years, Marjorie (Sullivan) Burke, whom he married on Nov. 20, 1965; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Robert Gould of St. Joseph, Mich.; three brothers, George (Eleanor) Burke of Fort Orange, FL, James (Nancy) Burke of Sarasota, FL and Robert (Rosalie) Burke of Saratoga Springs; three sisters, Marjorie Baldwin of Ballston Spa, Rosemary Flanagan of Gansevoort and Carol Alden of Mt. Dora, FL; his cherished grandchildren, Timothy, Michael, Alexander and Emma Gould; two brothers-in-law, Thomas (Pat) Sullivan of Greenwich and Don Sullivan of Schuylerville; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 5pm Sunday at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am Monday in St. Joseph's Church, 3159 Route 9N, Greenfield Center. Burial with military honors will follow at 1:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211.
