Obituary

Queensbury, NY – Timothy J. DeStefano peacefully went into the arms of our Lord after a brief battle with cancer on January 16, 2025, at home with loved ones by his side.

Born on July 2, 1965, in Sarasota, Florida, son of the late Timothy J. DeStefano Sr. and Janet A. Whiting.

Tim "TJ" was an amazing father/dad, and even more amazing papa! He always made himself available for sporting events, concerts or just spending time with his grandchildren, who absolutely loved their papa. TJ's most treasured time was family time, sibling luncheons, bonfires and family get togethers, but his annual 4th of July parties were the place to be with fireworks everyone could see for miles.

TJ's greatest passion was being a truck driver. He drove thousands of miles during his career, from coast to coast making friends everywhere he went. TJ was a free spirit who loved to make people laugh. His kind heart, warm words, and great sense of humor always attracted potential friends. TJ brought joy to the room and will be deeply missed by so many.

He spent his retirement years working on all kinds of projects, such as fixing small engines, working on vehicles, truly anything to keep him busy. TJ loved to travel and seek new adventures. He made many trips to Virginia to see his son, Timmy, his wife and his much-loved grandchildren. He also enjoyed trips to Oklahoma to see his cousin, but TJ really enjoyed packing up the camper and heading to Newcomb to visit with his in-laws and friends.

TJ is predeceased by his parents; Father-in-law, Norman Fifield Sr., and brother-in-law, John Fifield.

He is survived by his loving children, Rena DeStefano, significant other, Brandon Lake, Timothy DeStefano, his wife, Leeann, and Carmine DeStefano, his wife, Jordan DeStefano; siblings, Victoria Hall, her husband, Ty, Sylvia DeStefano, Sheilla Schenk, Loren Shipley, his wife, Terry and Chris Shipley, his wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Jordan, Evan, Hope, Audriana, Olivia, Oliver, Landon and Hank; Aunts, Sally Sheldon, her husband, Buck and Anne Ladabouch; mother-in-law, Violet Fifield; sister-in-law, Marie Gonyea, her husband, Kevin; brothers-in-law, Raymond McCasland, his wife, Etta and Norman Fifield Jr.;  nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Friday, January 24, 2025, at New Hope Community Church, 454 Corinth Road, Queensbury, NY 12804.  A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm with Pastor Jeff Stappenbeck officiating.

All are invited to a gathering for further fellowship following the service at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 80 Main St. South Glens Falls, NY 12803.

A private burial will be held at Bay St. Cemetery, where TJ will be laid to rest beside his beloved mother.
