Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY – Vallee A. Albert, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, surrounded by her family at Saratoga Hospital. She was 67.

Born in Bouckville, NY on February 16, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Patricia (Klaus) Morgan. Vallee attended Madison Central School in Madison, NY graduating in the class of 1967. Val worked as the daily operations manager of Saratoga County Airport before retiring as the Senior Underwriting Service Representative at State Farm Insurance in Malta. She was very involved for over 29 years with Toastmasters International, serving in every club and district officer role and from 2006-08, Val sat on the International Board of Directors. She contributed to the book "The Heart of a Toastmaster", which won the 2014 International Book Award for Anthologies, and had a cameo appearance in the movie. Her love for writing didn't stop there. Val was also a reporter for the Saratoga and Glens Falls Business Journals and The Express Newspaper in Mechanicville. She was also a motivational speaker and offered many public seminars and workshops for leadership development. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron of Saratoga Chapter 131 from 1987-1989. She also served as their secretary and as District Deputy Grand Matron for their district. Val was also a member of the Order of Amaranth, serving as Royal Matron, District Grand Royal Matron, Assistant Grand Lecturer, Grand Marshall and Commissioner of Appeals of the NY Grand Court of the Amaranth.

She was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa where she served as their wedding coordinator. Val loved to study the Bible and ancient history and also volunteered for Junior Achievement, where she taught children the values of staying in school and getting a good education.

In addition to her father, Val was predeceased by one brother Billy Morgan and one sister Kathleen Morgan.

Val is survived by her mother Patricia Morgan of Utica, her husband of 50 years, Jerry Albert, their two beautiful daughters, Kelly Albert of Gloversville and Karla Albert of Saratoga Springs; five grandchildren, Mandy Albert, Hannah May, Sadie Valentine, Stefan Lipowitz and Regan May; six siblings, Daniel Morgan, Christine Morgan-Raville, Paul Morgan, Kelly Spoor, William Morgan and Tracy Thornton; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7pm Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518-584-5373). The Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a service at 6:45 pm at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11am Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa, 202 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa. Burial will follow at 2pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
