Saratoga Springs, NY - Vincent S. Didziulis, of Maple Ave., passed away Monday morning (Dec. 21, 2009) at Saratoga Hospital following a short illness. He was 86. Born on Dec. 26, 1922 in Amsterdam, NY, he was a son of the late Adam and Katherine (Grinces) Didziulis and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Employed as a quality control engineer for the General Electric Company and Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Niskayuna, he retired after 47 years of service. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War Two, serving in Italy. A member of the Church of St. Peter, he was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giant football fan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Anne Staber and a brother, Joseph Didziulis. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Claudia (Stevens) Didziulis; one daughter, Sandra (Patrick) Durkin of Queensbury; one son, Stephen (Kristine) Didziulis of Thousand Oaks, CA; four grandchildren, Matthew and Katherine Durkin and Claire and Julia Didziulis; one niece, Diane Staber and his nephews, Michael Staber, Joseph and John Didziulis; and one sister-in-law, Geraldine Didziulis. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30am Thursday (Dec. 24, 2009) in the Chapel of the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in the main church. The Rev. Dominic S. Ingemie, pastor, will officiate.
