Ballston Spa, NY - Violet May Mead Peterson, formerly of Maplewood Manor, went home to her Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2011. She was 93. Born on Aug. 21, 1918 in Gloversville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Sara Chetwynd. Employed for many years at Wm. Doolin & Company in St. Albans, VT. and Rubin Glove Company in Gloversville, she was a grandmother for the Saratoga Springs YMCA day care program and an active member of the Saratoga Abundant Life Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Jack Chetwynd of Meco, NY; a sister, Marion Nellis of Gloversville and her late husbands, Lyman L. Mead and Burton W. Peterson. Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Patricia and Peter Rath of St. Albans, VT and Donna and John MacFadden of Saratoga Springs; three grandchildren, Kirsten Belrose and husband Jeffrey of St. Albans, VT, Eric Rath and wife Jenny of Seattle, WA, Scott MacFadden and wife Liza of Huntington Beach, CA; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 11am to 12 noon Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Funeral services will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Joseph Galarneau officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Union Rural Cemetery, 221 Lakeside Dr., Mayfield, NY.
