Saratoga Springs, NY - Violet M. Oliver of Jefferson St. passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Wesley Health Care Center after a brief illness. She was 87. Born on September 18, 1925 in Middle Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Jessie F. and Frances Clark. Violet worked for many years at Skidmore College and was member of the Principessa Elena. In addition to her parents, Violet is predeceased by her husband Charles R. Oliver; one son, Charles "Chuck" Oliver and two daughters, Mary Oliver Bradley and Joyce E. Oliver; two son-in-laws, Davie Zabielski and Ernest Wren; her brothers, Joseph Clark and Jesse Clark; sisters, Beverly Martin, Ruth Dowen, and Loretta (Cookie) Dowen; her half-brothers, Earl Clark, Guy Clark, and Lyle Clark and half-sister, Blanch Clark and her sister-in-law, Kathleen Clark. Survivors include two sons, Richard Sr. (Becky) Oliver of Palm Harbor, FL and Jesse Oliver of Saratoga Springs; daughters, Wanda Wren and Melissa Zabielski, both of Saratoga Springs; seven brothers, Kenneth (Anna Mae) Clark of Ballston Spa, Gorman Clark of Gansevoort, Frederick (Carol) Clark, Martin (Joanne) Clark, Charles Clark, Richard (Janet) Clark all of Saratoga Springs, and Donald (Ellen) Clark of Belle Glade, FL; four sisters, Alice Vidnansky, Marilyn Bayer, Bertha Whipple, and Marlene (Doug) Fuller, all of Saratoga Springs; daughter-in-law, Barbara Oliver; grandchildren, Thomas Kail of Burnt Hills, Charles (Rhonda) Oliver of Oceanside, CA, Kathi (Mike) Elmore of Queensbury, Kelley (Oliver) Bayer of Saratoga Springs, Richard Jr. (Julie) Oliver of Pinglee Grove, IL, Tracy (John) Bateholts of Gansevoort, Katie (Greg) Garmley of Schuylerville, Lyndsey Brown of Palm Harbor, FL; great grandchildren, Alycia Howe, Brendan Oliver, Jaime Oliver, Dalton Oliver, Karli Bayer, Camryn Kail, Riley Oliver, Khyler Garmley, Kyerra Garmley, Jennah Oliver, Michael Oliver, Samuel Oliver and Camille Oliver. In Lieu of flowers, Violet's family is requesting donations to the St. Peter's ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) Regional Center of 19 Warehouse Row, Albany, NY 12205.
