Ballston Spa, NY - Walter E. Brackett, Sr. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 after a long battle with diabetes. He was 57. Born March 29, 1951 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of William H. Brackett of Gansevoort and the late Frances E. (Bracken) Brackett. Walter was educated in Saratoga Springs Schools. He worked for many years in the restaurant business including the Hall of Springs in Saratoga and Mallozzi's in Schenectady. In addition to his father, Walter is survived by his daughters Laurie (Paul) Dudka of Saratoga Springs, Kayla Brackett of Rotterdam; his son Walter Brackett, Jr. of Saratoga Springs; his grandchildren Anthony Levo, Brett Dudka and Maddie Dudka all of Saratoga Springs; his companion Midge Ferguson of Ballston Spa; his former wife Patsy Brackett and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Walter will be missed by all who knew him and especially his longtime feline friend Whiskers. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 at 10am at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Burial will be in the family plot at Maplewood Cemetery.
