IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Warren Leonard
Dart
July 4, 1950 – May 4, 2025
Saratoga Springs- Warren Leonard Dart passed away May 4, 2025 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, he was 74.
Born July 4, 1950 in Saratoga Springs to the late Clarence and Millie Dart. Warren was a proud graduate of the Saratoga Springs City School District. In fact after graduating from SUNY Oswego and the University of Albany he would dedicate his professional career to the district. He began teaching 4th grade in 1978 at Greenfield Elementary before switching to 6th grade in 1982. He retired from the Maple Avenue Middle School in 2012. Beyond the classroom he coached boy's track and field, field hockey and girls' basketball. He remained committed to the girls' basketball program in his retirement including this past season. Warren spent multiple summers working at SPAC starting in 1972, he most enjoyed the Jazz fest and the classical events.
Warren was very dedicated to his family. He continued to share the storied legacy of his father Tuskegee airmen, Lt Col. Clarence Dart, at local schools and community organizations. He loved hearing about the accomplishments of his nieces and nephews. His most treasured time was spent with his wife of 42 years, Susan Dart and his daughter Kristen Dart. Family dinner was very important to him. He and Sue enthusiastically followed Kristen's sports career and would regularly travel to RI before her return to the capital region. Warren enjoyed traveling and took many memorable vacations with both family and friends. Not only did he like to vacation, there were numerous day trips, scenic train rides and evening cruises in a convertible to get ice cream. In his later years he finally realized his dream of owning a corvette. Although Warren's time with us was unexpectedly cut short he leaves a legacy of commitment to his community and more memories with friends and family than one can count.
In addition to his parents, Warren was predeceased by his brother Clarence Dart.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Dart, his daughter Kristen Dart, his sisters Katherine Dart, Gwendolyn Steans (David), Denise Dart, Dawn Ray (Keith), Joyce Dart, and Cynthia Providence (Kerwin), and by many nieces, nephews.
The family would like to thank the oncology and palliative care teams at Saratoga Hospital for their care of Warren.
