Saratoga Springs, NY - Warren G. Wildy, 71, passed away Saturday, Sept 12, 2026. A lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs, he was a son of the late Warren F. and Mary Quinlan Wildy. He was a graduate of Saint Peter's Academy, class of 1972. 

Warren dedicated 32 years of his life to serving the City of Saratoga Springs, beginning his career as a police officer and retiring in 2009 as a Detective Sergeant. His commitment to service extended well beyond his career. An honorary life member and Past Grand Knight of Saratoga Council 246 Knights of Columbus, he was a former District Deputy and Past Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree Assembly 745, a Boy Scout leader with Troop 7 and a Civil Air Patrol leader at Saratoga County Airport. In 2006, Warren was honored to serve as part of a Secret Service detail for First Lady Laura Bush.

But to the people who loved him, Warren was so much more than his accomplishments.

He was, above all else, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend; and one of the funniest and goofiest people you could ever hope to know. Warren had an answer, a joke or a saying for nearly every situation. He loved trivia, delighted in a good romantic comedy and possessed an almost endless supply of stories, opinions, and one-liners. He had a remarkable ability to make people laugh, often when they needed it most.

Warren’s greatest gift, however, was his enormous capacity to love. He never missed an opportunity to tell someone he loved them and made sure the people around him never had to wonder how he felt about them.

Warren leaves behind his beloved wife, Christine, with whom he shared nearly 50 years of love, laughter and life together. He is also survived by his brother William (Joann) Wildy; his sister Mary Anne (Michael) Macica; his five children, Julie Dwyer-King, Jessica Dwyer, Allison Wildy (Raffaele Rispo), Warren J. Wildy and Christopher Wildy (Carli Finamore); his five grandchildren, Brady King (Lindsay), Emma King, Rocco Rispo, Alyssa Dwyer and Paul Rispo; his great-granddaughter, Charlotte King, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He will be remembered for the life he devoted to serving others, but even more for the laughter and love he brought into the lives of the people around him. His family will miss his voice, his stories, his endless sayings, his goofy sense of humor and most of all, hearing him say, “I love you.”

Friends may call from 1 to 3pm Sunday at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, followed at 3pm by a brief service. A gathering for all will immediately follow at the K of C home, 50 Pine Rd. at Washington St., to reminisce, share stories and raise a toast to Warren’s life. Private burial will at the family plot in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial gifts in Warren's honor to be in the form of donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
