Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY - Wayne G. Riley, 66 passed away December 4, 2022.  Born in Fort Knox, Kentucky on October 23, 1956, Wayne was the son of the late Richard and Catherine Riley.

Wayne enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. During his time in the Navy, Wayne was awarded the Navy Achievement metal. After serving 15 years in the Navy, Wayne retired as a First-Class Petty Officer. As a civilian, he worked as a computer programmer and analyst. Wayne was always working on a computer project and learning new operating systems. He loved electronics and science fiction. Wayne was a member of the American Legion. He was quick to help someone in need, especially family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved Aunt Audrey, closest friend and brother-in-law Joe Quickenton, and infant grandson Matthew Beaudoin.

Wayne is survived by his daughter Samantha, son-in-law Christopher and four grandchildren:  Lucas, Isabelle, Brian and Scarlett.  He is also survived by his siblings George (Gretchen) Riley, Donald (Gail) Riley, Mary (Charlie) Magee, Grace Riley, and Gale (Danny) Stott and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering is to be held on Friday December 9, 2022 from 3pm-7pm at the American Legion Hall in Albany, 35 North 1st St., Albany, NY 12204. Some food will be provided.  All are welcome to pay respects.

Burial with military honors will be at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 10:30am.
