Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY - William (Bill) A. Brennan of Saratoga Springs passed away on Tuesday June 8, 2010 at Saratoga Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 54. Born on August 12, 1955 in Saratoga Springs, he is the son of Robert and Joan Allen Brennan. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as an engineer. He was employed through the Operating Engineers Local #106 of Albany after his time in the service. Bill was a friend to anyone he met and no one could resist his blue eyes and sense of humor. He always cared deeply for his close family, including (and especially!) his animals. He loved to watch sports, particularly NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. Born to fight, Bill lived every moment of his life to the fullest. Bill is predeceased by his dog, Brutus. In addition to his parents, Bill is survived by two daughters, Julia Brennan of Fairfax, Virginia and Jennifer Brennan of Ballston Spa; one grandson, Theodore; one brother, Robert W. Brennan and his wife Barbara of Finlay Ohio; one sister, DawnMarie Helin and her husband Jim of Saratoga Springs as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, and a dog, Caesar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Friday June 11, 2010 in the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway by the Rev. Michael G. Cambi, associate pastor. There will be no calling hours. Burial with military honors will follow at noon at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway(584-5373). The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Saratoga and the third floor nurses of Saratoga Hospital for their care and assistance; it was greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest memorials in Mr. Brennans honor be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 or an animal charity of their choice due to his avid love for animals.
