Saratoga Springs, NY- William D. Vandell (Bill) of Saratoga Springs and Indian Lake, New York was 86 years old when he passed peacefully in his home on November 9, 2022.

Bill was born in Oceanside New York on December 26, 1935, 2 nd  son of Frank and Marjorie Vandell of Malverne, New York.  He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and received a Bachelor's Degree in Labor Relations. He was honorably discharged from the Army in July 1964.  Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years Edith. They resided in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey and Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, before settling in their home state of New York.

Bill was the Treasurer of Theta Xi fraternity at the University of Pennsylvania. He was the Director of Human Resources in Philadelphia Pennsylvania for Acme Markets for 23 years as well as the Trustee of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Tri State Pension Fund.  In retirement he worked as a volunteer at Valley Forge National Park. In 2015 he was honored as volunteer of the year.

Along with Edith, he is survived by his 2 sons Richard of Saratoga Springs, New York, Robert of Sammamish, Washington, daughter Regan Rodgers of Park City, Utah, their spouses and 8 grandchildren. Family centered activities brought Bill his greatest joy and inspired the construction of a vacation home in the Adirondack Mountains where they could enjoy the great outdoor together.
