Saratoga Springs, NY-  William "Bill" Stanley Danko, Sr. of Salem, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep at The Wesley Community Center in Saratoga, NY, on Monday, March 11, 2024. He was 91.

Born in Cohoes, NY on June 9, 1932, he was the son of the late, Blazek and Laura (Tompkins) Danko. He was the husband of Barbara Ann Danko (Foy), whom he married on July 28, 1951.

Bill attended school in Cohoes, NY. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. He worked and retired from Al Tech Specialty Steel in Watervliet.

Bill is survived by his children, Susan (Maurice) Jeanson of Corinth, Mark (Terry) Danko of East Greenbush, William (Hinda) Danko, Jr. of Salem, Gail (Wayne) Cardner of Scarborough, ME, Heidi (Mark) Mahay of Saratoga Springs and Dawn (Dan) LeClair of Salem. His surviving siblings are his sister, Shirley Delude, his brother Richard Spass, and his sister, Madeline Martel; grandchildren, Carrie Mavrogeorge,  Melissa Guillaume, Daniel Jeanson,  Matthew Jeanson, Brian Jenson, Amanda Fernandez, Brittany Hamilton, Melissa Niedhammer, Robert Danko, Kim–Leigh Danko, Catie–An Seavey, Philip Passino, Chelsea Fay, Edward Mahay, Misty Yule, Mark Mahay, Jr., Aleisha LeClair and Cody LeClair. He is also survived by his 33 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Barbara Danko, his son, Martin Danko as well as his siblings Walter Danko, Flora Mae Desrosier, and Laura Thiele.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4-7 pm on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the William J. Burke & Son's/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY.

A Funeral Home service will be conducted on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11 am.

The Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Salem, NY.
