Obituary

Moreau, NY- It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) H. Johnson Sr., age 79, of Moreau, NY, who passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Deanna Johnson (Mike Durling) and William H. Johnson Jr. (Amy); and grandchildren Jeanine, Daniel, Reese and Lindsey.

Bill was born on July 21, 1945 to the late Henry and Mary Alice Johnson in Cohoes, NY. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Clark and her family.

He was a graduate of Shaker High School and attended HVCC. He served in the 19th Special Forces Airborne Group and the New York Army National Guard.

Bill was hardworking and dedicated. He spent years working as a lineman for New York Telephone Co., as a Tech Manager for AT&T (Florida) and eventually owned his own business, All Systems Wiring (Florida). During his retirement years, he followed his passion and love of farm life at Stonegate Stables.

His interests included his dogs, playing craps at the casino, horse racing, cruising/traveling, camping, boating, fishing, being a forever fan of the Miami Dolphins, and although it was not his passion, he attended numerous Alabama concerts, to show his devotion to his wife. Although Bill may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his years of unconditional love for his family honored. He left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

We find comfort in knowing that Bill's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

We respectfully request that donations be made to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (Trfinc.org) – a cause close to Bill's heart.

A private family memorial service is planned.
