Obituary

Saratoga Springs - William "Bill" Juron passed away on May 26, 2015, with his loving wife, Irene, by his side while in Sarasota, Florida. Born to the late Jacob and Adeline Montville Juron on August 21, 1926, in Schenectady, New York. Bill attended Nott Terrace High School prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy at age 17. While in the U.S. Navy, he achieved the rank of Hospital Corpsman (HM), an enlisted medical specialist of the U.S. Navy. In this role he cared for enlisted men of both the Navy and U.S. Marine Corps., who were wounded in the Pacific. He went through Camp Lejeune in North Carolina before being stationed in San Diego. After successful completion of his military responsibilities, he returned to his Schenectady roots and met Irene Krasnowski of Amsterdam. Soon after marriage, Bill began a new career in the automobile business working as a sales consultant for Webster Motors, Inc. in Schenectady. While there, Bill achieved several management positions. In 1966 Irene and Bill, together with Edward Trice, bought former "Bigsbee Motors" in Saratoga Springs, New York, a Ford and Mercury franchised dealership on Congress Street. The successful enterprise was gutted by fire on December 30, 1970, later rebuilding the facility to what is now Exit 15 and Northway in Wilton. Bill was elected by his peers to represent all New York automobile dealers in franchise and business functions as Vice-President of New York State Automobile Dealers in 1973. After selling Trice-Juron, Bill was appointed Vice-President of First National Bank of Scotia, where he served as marketing manager for transportation affairs in upstate New York. He developed First National's interest in the local business transportation community for 26 years, only to retire at age 85. Bill not only was successful in his business dealings, he gave back to the Saratoga Springs community in many ways. As an Elk and Lions member, Trice-Juron's presence was felt in various donations and local support when requested. An iconic member of the Saratoga Golf and Polo Club, Bill shared his love of golf with many members of the Saratoga Springs community. As years past, Bill and Irene shared time in their residences in Saratoga Springs and Bradenton, FL. An outdoorsman, Bill loved his trips to Sacandaga and Vermont and visits to family on both East and West Coasts. Bill was a sage and savvy business executive and loving father whose mere presence put smiles on those in his company. A warm, interested and engaging husband to his loving wife Irene, and a resilient elder to those family members he mentored, Bill will be remembered for his unwavering gift of friendship, peace, and love. In addition to his parents, Bill is predeceased by his brother James Juron, sisters June Davidson and Margaret Patria of Schenectady. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Irene, sons Mark and (his wife, Christine) and Paul Juron and (his partner, Holly), grandchildren Kathryn (and her husband Justin) Coln, Matthew (and his wife Tracey) Juron, Andrew (and his wife Dana) Juron, and Jaclyn Juron, great grandchildren Scarlett Coln, Jaxon Juron, and Penelope Juron, and many nieces and nephews.
