Downsville, NY - William F. Neske III, 74, formerly of Ramsey passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Bill was born on July 18, 1944, in Starke, FL, where his father was stationed at Camp Blanding. He grew up in Ramsey, NJ; graduated from Ramsey H.S., and resided in Bergen (NJ) and Rockland (NY) counties, before retiring to Downsville, NY.

A true patriot, Bill joined the U.S. army in 1962 and was as an active member of the National Guard and Army Reserves, proudly serving our country for 19 years.   He also worked for the U.S. postal service and was a manager for several supermarket chains.  In his free time, Bill volunteered as a merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America.  He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening as well.

Bill is predeceased by his parents William F. Neske Jr and Ruth Aileen (Jennings) Neske and by his brother Roy Alan Neske.

He is survived by his five beloved children: Patricia Neske (David Brandt) of Minoa, NY; Tammy Neske (Tom Grissom) of Wyckoff, NJ; William F. Neske IV of Sidney Center, NY; Glenn Neske (Michelle) of Liverpool, NY and Jenna Neske (Tom Murphy) of Hawthorne, NJ and 6 treasured grandchildren: Samantha Philpot, Roy Philpot, Alexander Dillon, Falon Neske, William F Neske V and Tyler Neske.

He is also survived by his 3 cherished sisters: Sue Johnson (Glen) of Haskell, NJ; Jeanne Pennypacker (Mike) of Glenville, NY and Terri Cook (Kyle) of Ramsey, NJ as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bill will be laid to rest on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am at the cemetery for family and close friends.
