Mayfield, NY - William Thomas Schewe passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 at Albany Medical Center. Born July 24, 1948 in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late William and Martha Schewe. Bill was a journeyman pressman for Clarity Publishing in Albany as well as a member of the local Printers and Pressman's Union. In 1973, he became a crane operator for many local sign companies, retiring in 2010 from the Ray Sign Company of Schenectady. Bill then worked as a courier for the Community Care Physicians. He loved going to all of the doctors' offices and meeting people. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barbara Padula Schewe of Mayfield; son Mark T. Schewe of Seattle, WA; daughter Beth (Frank) Nesbitt of Gansevoort, NY; grandsons David and Jonathan Schewe and granddaughters Carly and Lila Schewe, Emma and Paige Nesbitt; his brothers Donald (Rena) of Liverpool, NY and Robert of Colonie, NY; three nephews; one niece; his dearest cousin and best man Mark (Mary) Nolan and his longtime best friends Joseph and Linda Meuse. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by "Haley" his favorite blonde. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Albany Medical Center D4East, NYOH Dr. Ira Zackon, Dr. Courtney Bellomo, Dr. Harry Dunn and Linda Sano and family who Bill loved dearly. They are also very grateful for all who gave blood and platelets and ask that you please consider donating to help another. Relatives and friends may call from 10am to 12noon on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at the Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church, 175 Fifth Ave. at Henning Rd. Funeral services will follow at 12noon, celebrated by Rev. Heather Williams, pastor. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
