Saratoga Springs, NY - William C. Schmohl of Elmont and Saratoga passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 28, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Virginia, he was a devoted father to William A. Schmohl and Karen V. Schriefer and father-in-law to James Schriefer and Cristina Schmohl and cherished "Pop Pop" to Craig, Dana, John Henry, Zeke, and Kimberly. Bill served in the US Army from 1951-53 and worked for New York Telephone Co. for most of his career. In retirement, he and Ginni were avid members of the New York Telephone Pioneers and traveled throughout Europe and North America. They also enjoyed bowling, fishing and golf, and, until recently, Bill was active in Silver Sneakers at the YMCA in Malta. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who will always remain close to our hearts. A private family service celebrating both their lives will be held this summer and their ashes interred in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
