Obituary

Porter Corners, NY - Woodrow "Woody" Drumm of North Greenfield Road, passed away peacefully at his residence, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. He was 70. Born on Aug. 18, 1940 in Sharon Springs, NY, Woody was born at his grandmother's house, with his grandmother and great-grandmother attending. He was the son of the late William and Alma (Collins) Drumm. A graduate of Canajoharie Central School, he went on to SUNY Morrisville where he met Linda, the love of his life. His early career was in retail until he discovered the world of politics. He was appointed Deputy Clerk in Saratoga County and served for 14 years until he was appointed Assistant Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles by Governor George Pataki. Woody enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially working in his woodshop, turning out some nice projects and making a lot of sawdust. His eleven grandchildren were his greatest delight. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Linda and grandson, Caleb (Bum). Survivors include his sons, Michael (Darlene) Drumm of Middle Grove, William (Debbie) Drumm of Greenfield Center and daughter Sarah (Gaylord) Lawrence of Orlando, FL; 11 grandchildren, Rachel, Dan, Rebecca, Miranda, Nick, Matt, Noah, Megan, Tre, Taylor and Toryn; one brother, Gary (Fran) Drumm of Canajoharie and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend and companion, Marge Shepherd. Relatives and friends may call from 10am to 12noon Friday, April 8, 2011 at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs 584-5373. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home.
